Nails: Week 46—Lace

November 10, 2014

I’d originally planned to use the lace as a sort of mask, but tests didn’t work. I ended up putting the lace directly on the nail. I think a more delicate lace would work better. Still looked pretty cool.

Nails: Week 45—Fireworks

November 3, 2014

I love these. Used white pen on top of black to make the firework outlines. Used gold glitter pens to make the sparkles and then used different, chunky, round glitters to make the sparkle flurries. Might have to do a little twinkle-video!

Nails: Week 44—Halloween Colours

October 27, 2014

Used the sandwich bag technique again. I had something more elaborate in mind, but there’s always next year!

Nails: Week 43—Them Bones

October 20, 2014

Used a fan brush to get a line-y goth-y bone effect.

Nails: Week 42—Blood

October 13, 2014

My life’s been taken over with work at the moment so none of my Halloween nails were as exciting as I wanted 🙁 But when it’s a choice between sleep or nails, one chooses sleep! These were done with the sandwich bag technique, and I absolutely love the effect!

Nails: Week 41—Autumn

Nails: Week 40—Sisters

September 29, 2014

This was in honour of my littlest sister, who turned 18 at the weekend. We’re always fabulous (glitter) and we like pink. The pink is Ciaté’s “Cupcake Queen” and the glitter is from some random loose glitters.

Nails: Week 39—WXG

September 22, 2014

It’s Web Expo Guildford week, therefore continuing with my “web event themed nails” (see Pubhack and dConstruct). I was so busy this week, these are quite messy, but still a hit. Changed my mind about what I wanted to do part way through. Had intended Xs but just didn’t have the time. Had some chevron shaped […]

Nails: Week 38—Blue Like Your Eyes

September 15, 2014

I had trouble picking a theme this week, and then remembered I was going to see Ballyturk at the National Theatre. As a result, this week’s theme was Cillian Murphy‘s eye colour—blue. I layered some different blues with a sponge and finished with a layer or two of Barry M’s “Mermaid”.

Nails: Week 37—Pink Gromit

September 8, 2014

I wanted to use a theme from something I liked from all the conferences I attended last week. I chose Gav Strange’s giant Gromit from the Gromit Unleashed event. It is easily one of the coolest things I have ever seen. He’s pink and gold with a spiky collar, and who doesn’t love Gromit? I have to […]

Nails: Week 36 B—dConstruct

September 4, 2014

I was the lucky one who won a dConstruct ticket in SiteGround‘s draw. Since my glitter nails got decimated at Reasons To (yep, I’m all conference, all week!) I thought I’d change it up. The greeny effect is an interpretation of the website header, the orangey red on the calls to action and the “d” […]

Nails: Week 36—Messy Sparkles

September 1, 2014

Wishing I hadn’t tipped these. I do like the pink glitter polish, think it would look good worked into space nails.
