Find out more about the project here. Keep up to date daily via my Instargam. 100 Days Complete Alright alright alright! Gosh darn every one of you that requested this one 😜 impossible with the size and time constraints. But I do agree it had to be done, albeit simplified. THANK YOU to everyone who […]
A two hour sketch comprised of pencil, fineliner pen, markers, white gel pen and watercolour pencil.
My fun new years resolution was delayed this year, but I am very happy I can finally start sharing it with you. In the run up to Christmas I got my hands on a Wreck This Journal. These books are very popular on the internet at the moment, and serve as an invitation for you […]
A few days ago I shared a work-in-progress shot of a drawing. I watched one of my favourite movies (Girl Interrupted) and was inspired by an image of Ryder and Jolie that I’d found on Pinterest. This is it, sort of finished. Finished to the point where I’m tired of it, anyway. I’m still not […]
I’ve been practising my drawing, doing something every day for just over two weeks. It’s been interesting. I really want to get back into my art but I’m just so rusty! More practice. This is a rough attempt at Hermione. I’m not happy with the hair, but it’s very tricky. I like mixing pen into […]
I’m trying to get back into some art materials I haven’t used for a very long time. Oil pastels as mentioned the other day, and ink. I was struck by the lovely illustrations in my ancient Famous Five collection and so though I’d give some of them a try.
I was challenged to make the first thing I did Tuesday morning a drawing. To remind myself when I woke up, I wrote a post-it note and put it on the kitchen door. This inspired something, and I ended up writing myself 52 post-it note reminders.
I was taught that sometimes copying something can provide you with valuable insight. On various courses we were encouraged to copy parts of images to get into the mindset of an artist or learn their technique. This copy of my favourite Klee is poorly executed, the background is nothing like his for example, but all […]
An evening spent practising drawing lips, and revisiting oil pastel.
The weather was rather rainy today so I switched my plans round. I worked during the day and then took some time in the afternoon to do another quick drawing.
Saturday has been half chores, half fun things. I got the chores done early on, in between reading chapters of It. I did some more drawing and watched The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. Read on to see how that went down.
It’s the end of my first “working week” and I’m almost as tired as I was from being at work. As mentioned on day 1, I didn’t want to just sit on my arse, so I’ve kept myself pretty busy. I’m realising why half this stuff doesn’t usually get done.
