We wanted to do something messy, and I had an idea. I’d been doing some “blind contour drawings” and suggested we try it with paint. Essentially, you’re drawing without looking at the paper. You can look at what you’re drawing, you just can’t see what you’re doing. A thousand times harder with paint, but so much fun!
This is what we were painting. Belle and Buzz Lightyear.
Hannah’s is stunning and makes a lot more sense than my mess. It was so difficult, but so very funny. We used scarves and hoodies so we couldn’t see our paper, the whole thing was just ridiculous.
Neither of us can work out how I got so much paint on the paper. It’s still drying!
With our blinkers off, we used up the paint by doing some collaborative finger painting.
Then we did some sponge and scraping. Neither of us could get the green quite right which was a shame, but then Buzz is pretty luminous.
