I spent my morning running around town, trying to find things for a wedding, my afternoon at an RSPCA charity event, and my evening with another film.
My day was mostly taken up with work related things. I went to a meeting with a potential client, got lost on the trains coming back and then sorted out a follow up to the meeting.
Saturday has been half chores, half fun things. I got the chores done early on, in between reading chapters of It. I did some more drawing and watched The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. Read on to see how that went down.
Today was my first official “no job” day. I said goodbye to 3wise on Friday and then had a fairly normal weekend. Saturday in Brighton with my best friend. Sunday on the sofa, watching Friends and having some mental downtime by playing the Sims.
It doesn’t always happen, and it isn’t always a Friday, but I tend to aim for one film a week. Last year I watched over 100 films, largely down to a LoveFilm subscription. I don’t watch many TV shows, so my “passive consumption” time is predominantly made of films.
I have a LoveFilm subscription. Frequently, I find myself not knowing what films to add to my list. At these times I’ll pick an actor or actress and add all their films. The good, the bad and the ugly. The discoveries I have made as a result have been worth the bad films, and on […]
I wrote this way back when the movie came out… oops!
I love the Hitchcock version of Rebecca, and whilst it’s not 100% true to the book, I think it does it justice and makes for worthy watching. The BBC edition goes completely the other way and fails miserably. Film and book are completely different media and should be treated as such.
I finally finished watching all the 24 that has been released (I started with season 6…) and after the not that exciting season that was day 4, day 5 proved to be something most awesome. If you haven’t seen it, watch it. If you have, ignore the spoiler warning.
The writer’s strike has really messed this show up. With the rushed ending of season 3 (which was still good, but honestly needed more back story, and the whole Booth scenario needed something more), and the first two episodes yet again just seemed like a lot of character development crammed in to a short space […]
Ed and I watched Garden State last week. He told me not to get my hopes up, but I really enjoyed it. Yeah it’s cliched, it’s not five star acting, but it’s sweet. There’s a few things that made me think. I think if you fancy something that ends up a bit feelgood, something a […]
Stardust. Beautiful, enchanting. I came out of the cinema thinking that real life was sometimes incredibly boring compared to the story in the film. I guess in real life you have to make your own magic 😉
